06 How has becoming a parent changed you? Xander is 21 weeks old today, and I'm finding that becoming a parent has left me feeling thoroughly contented. My wanderlust has faded and now, when I hear a train in the distance, I no longer feel a longing to be free -- it feels as though my years train hopping were an entire other life, now fading with nostalgia. After years of feeling shackled by everything, struggling to escape, ironically it has been having a child that has made me feel free.
