You were told that your life would involve wealth and fame and happiness, and that all it took was the will and perhaps a little hard work. But that didn't happen. Your life is not your own. The world conspired against you. Fate played a cruel trick on you. You are fortune's fool. You are life's vicious jest. You were supposed to be wealthy. You were supposed to be successful. You were supposed to find love and marry some wonderful person. You were supposed to effortlessly balance your professional and private lives. You were supposed to be famous. You were supposed to be someone. You were supposed to be someone powerful. You were supposed to have it all. You              have              NOTHING. Where did your life go wrong? You did everything that you were told to do. You followed the Dream. You listened and obeyed. You indulged in capitalist pop culture. You consumed. You bought. You hoarded. None of it makes any difference. You              are              NOTHING                  and quite possibly no one. This is not how the story goes. You won't find a fairy tale that ends like this.
