The story as I told it that night worked on some level, and I decided to write it up as Chapter 43 the next day. It was the best thing that I wrote for a while, or so I thought; people seemed to respond well to it and eventually it entered the rotation of my "party pieces": a small number of stories that I would tell friends when we were hanging out telling each other stories. If only I'd known what was to come, I would never have authored such a story, much less shared it with others.
Alyssym was not she for whom I was looking. She was, actually, the last Christian girl whom I dated until Clio, and I valued that in our short relationship. That was one thing that I wanted.
